MEET SUNITA VIRA
Sunita Vira is a Retreat Leader who has led exclusive Culinary Wellness Retreats around the world since 2014 from Bali, Singapore, India, Santa Fe to Costa Rica. Taking wellness to a whole new level to balance the body, mind and spirit! Sunita is a published author of RAW for LIFE! In 2010, Sunita founded the Raw Food Center, in Singapore with the goal to help people take healthy eating into their lifestyle for vibrant health. In 2014, she moved back to her home in Chicago and expanded the Center. Sunita is a certified Gourmet Raw Food Chef and Nutrition Educator from the Living Light Culinary Institute and Matthew Kenney Culinary Academy in California. Sunita loves exploring and studying ancient cultures and their foods and incorporates them in her culinary creations with a modern twist.
As a chef and an educator, she has a passion for getting you comfortable in the kitchen and sharing recipes and knowledge she has gained from a lifetime of learning and experimenting with foods.
As a retreat leader, she will take you on an adventure of a lifetime that will transform your body, mind and spirit.
As a global traveller and a woman of Indian heritage, she offers you the world in terms of cuisine, flavors, spices, preparations, and techniques.
As a mother, she takes her inspiration from her children and she will guide those of you struggling with how to plan and prepare healthy food for yourself and your family.
As an artist, she loves to experiment with ingredients and create food that is unique and looks and tastes delicious.
As a healer, she approaches food with respect and embraces raw (or nearly-raw), living, plant-based foods and methods that result in increased energy, enhanced immunity and disease prevention, effective weight management, clearer eyesight, glowing skin, thicker hair, better sleep, improved metabolism and fertility, deceleration of the aging process,
and relief from depression.
Sample Day Itinerary
6:30am – 8:00am Coffee or Tea Boca Dulce Restaurant
Wake up to soothing rhythms of nature, spectacular views and enjoy some quiet time for yourself. Journal, meditate or go for a walk in the gorgeous retreat property.
Enjoy a delicious coffee or tea at the Dulce Restaurant.
9:00am – 10:30am Breakfast Boca Dulce Restaurant
Nourish your body with a delicious and healthy tropical breakfast. This will be a combination of raw and cooked.
10:30am – 1:00pm Local Farmers Market Tour in Atenas with Local Chef Sergio
Experience the local Farmers Market with Chef Sergio. He will introduce to local produce, teach you everything you need to know and turn it into delicious creations.
1:30pm – 2:30pm Healthy Lunch Boca Dulce Restaurant
Fill up with a healthy lunch at the Resort Restaurant. Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options available. Indulge with a delicious raw dessert from Sunita.
2:30pm – 3:45pm Culinary Demonstration with Sunita
Sunita will teach you cutting-edge techniques and recipes. Most of her recipes will be raw, and you will be surprised how amazing raw can tastes!
4:00pm – 5:00pm Restorative Yoga Class
Recharge your body, mind and spirit with this restorative yoga class. This will put you into the right state to get the most out of this retreat experience.
6:30pm – 8:30pm 3 Course Dinner at Boca Dulce Restaurant
A gastronomical experience to suite your pallet! Vegan and Meat options. With a delectable menu with a combination of cooked and raw.
8:30pm - 9:30pm Group Chat

TRIP FAQS
How do I get to Costa Rica?
- Book a flight to San Jose Intl. Airport in Costa Rica
(Airfare is not included & has to be booked individually)
- No visa required for US Citizens
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least another 6 months.
- The Retreat begins late afternoon. Try to book a flight that gets there in the morning or early afternoon.
- The Retreat Center is 40min from San Jose Intl. Airport.
We will organize group pick-ups at designated times.
Medical Concerns
- Please check the CDC website and consult a Travel Doctor about suggested vaccinations and other medical concerns
Travel Insurance
- We recommend to purchase a travel insurance that covers the trip in case of natural disasters and personal emergencies.
What level are the activities?
- The activities are medium level. We are happy to adjust certain activities to your level.
- You choose which activities you'd like to participate and it's totally fine to skip an activity.
